Sino-German Cooperation on Low Carbon Transport

Beijing – Thre GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the Chinese Ministry of Transport (MoT) jointly launched the “Sino-German Cooperation on Low Carbon Transport” project in Beijing on April 27.

The project is commissioned under the International Climate Initiative by BMUB of which the GIZ and the Transport Management Department of MoT were designated implementation partners. Prof. Dr. Liu Xiaoming, Director General of Transport Management Department of MoT and Dr. Norbert Salomon, Deputy Director General of Emission Control, Safety of Installation and Transport Department of BMUB delivered opening speeches before the signing by both sides.

The project itself comprises three components, Sino-German Political Dialogue, Urban Transport and Freight Transport. After the signing, the whole-day event continued with a workshop encompassing several presentations and discussions related to the components of the project with profound exchange of international and local experts on low carbon transport.
