Manila – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) of the Philippines and the two GIZ projects TRANSfer and Transport and Climate Change (TCC) jointly organized the DOTC-GIZ Annual Planning Workshop 2015 held in Manila on February 6th.
The workshop aimed to further elaborate the cooperation between DOTC and GIZ on climate-friendly transport. The workshop further aimed to clarify the concept and development of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) and enable stakeholder coordination around the joint activities of DOTC and GIZ.
Relevant stakeholders from national government agencies and other organizations shared ongoing and planned activities related to environmentally sustainable transport. The workshop continued to focus on conceptual discussions on 1) a coherent policy framework and 2) the development of NAMA activities in the context of the reform of the road-based public transport envisaged by DOTC. Based on the extensive exchange, the participants developed work plans that help to realize the agreed objectives for 2015.
