Phnom Penh – Senior officials of Cambodia and U.S. met here on Tuesday discussing ways to boost bilateral ties and to exchange views on regional issues.
The meeting was held between Cambodian Foreign Ministry Secretary of State Ouch Borith and Daniel Russel, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Borith said the U.S. has intention to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation with Cambodia, particularly in economics, trade and investment.
“Daniel Russel told me that giant American companies are eyeing investment potential in Cambodia since the two countries still have room to grow in economic and trade relations,” said the Cambodian official.
Both sides also agreed to enhance cooperation in education through the increase of U.S. scholarships to Cambodian students and exchange of student visits. Source: Xinhua
