Shanghai – Since its launch in January 2017, the Alibaba Anti-Counterfeiting Alliance (AACA) has tripled in size, with over 105 brands registered and 12 industry categories represented.
More global top names including Adidas, Estee Lauder, Levi’s, L’Oreal, Luxottica and Ralph Lauren, now join, Apple, Bose and Procter and Gamble, on the intellectual property (IP) protection scheme.
Wanting to demonstrate their commitment to IP protection, the AACA was created so Alibaba could partner with brands to protect IP across its platforms. Alibaba have recently upgraded their anti-counterfeiting technology to make it simpler for rights holders to log suspicious activity, thus making processing time and investigations to happen faster.
According to the announcement in Alizila, Alibaba senior vice president Michael Yao, who leads the AACA, views the influx of new members “reflects the trust these large major global brands have in Alibaba and what we are doing.”.
