BERLIN – The consumer portal Flightright has conducted a comprehensive analysis of the quality of European airlines and has now published the results. Over a million passenger data points were evaluated and categorized into reliability, payment behavior for compensation, and customer satisfaction. Each airline could achieve up to five stars in each category. From these ratings, an overall grade was calculated for each airline, and a ranking of the worst airlines was created.
The ranking reveals significant differences between the airlines. At the top of the list of the worst airlines is British Airways, with a cancellation rate of 3.31% and a delay rate of 36.57%. It is closely followed by Lufthansa CityLine and Eurowings, both part of the Lufthansa Group, which also have high cancellation and delay rates. Notably, so-called budget airlines like easyJet and Ryanair generally perform better than some established premium airlines.
The complete ranking and further details on the methodology of the study can be viewed on the Flightright website. (zai)
