Jakarta – Before the 25th anniversary of its sister city partnership next year, Berlin and Jakarta celebrate an event of creativity, innovation and international collaboration as part of StartUp AsiaBerlin on November 3.
Ms. Retno Marsudi (Foreign Minister of Indonesia), Mr. Triawan Munaf (Chairman, Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy), Mr. Cedrik Neike (Siemens), Mr. Clas Neumann (SAP), and prominent representatives of Indonesian business and politics will address the 500 participants from Germany and the startup ecosystem of Indonesia.
The conference is implemented by enpact and HI Indonesia with the strong support of Siemens and in cooperation with Make-IT in Asia, GIZ, GTAI, BEKRAF, the German Accelerator SEA, Impact Hub Jakarta, Bertelsmann Stiftung, Forbes Indonesia and SAP.
StartUp AsiaBerlin (SUAB)
The German-Asian startup platform StartUp AsiaBerlin (SUAB) is a project established by the State of Berlin in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). It is implemented by enpact e.V. in cooperation with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Z Nation Lab and HI Indonesia.
SUAB involves German and Asian stakeholders from startup hubs that are responsible for creating productive ecosystems. The platform between the startup hubs Berlin, Manila, Jakarta and Bangalore enables the professionalization and direct cooperation between start-ups. This will be facilitated by a structured communication and cooperation between the coordinators of the Hubs. As a result, an international startup ecosystem should be established.
StartUp AsiaBerlin offers the opportunity to develop innovative solutions for relevant global challenges. It aims at increasing the quality of the startups in the three partner cities, in terms of a post-industrial sustainable economic growth.
Make-IT Initiative is an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The goals of the Make-IT Initiative is to contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development, by promoting the start-up scene of technology companies (tech entrepreneurship) in developing and emerging countries. This year, Make-IT in Asia is launched to promote tech entrepreneurship for sustainable and inclusive development in Asia.
