Taipei – Asus’ Zenfone smartphones have been quite popular in the Asian markets. The Zenfone 5 specifically has been a bestseller in the company’s home market and continues to remain in short supply in other countries.
Now, Asus CEO Jerry Shen has revealed that the company is working on second-generation Zenfone line-up, which will include feature upgrades in design, camera, memory, battery and even UI. Shen stated at an investors’ conference that all, but one, second-generation phones will be support 4G connectivity, which has not been present on the original Zenfone smartphones. The company did release a variant of Zenfone 5 at Computex with LTE support but the original version with Intel processor did not have 4G support.
Jerry Shen noted that Zenfone 2 line-up will be unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015, which is scheduled from Jan 6-9 next year. He did not reveal anyother details.
