BANGKOK – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) proudly participated in CineAsia 2024, solidifying the nation’s position as a premier destination for filmmakers and a key player in the global film industry.

Held from December 9-12 at Icon Cineconic and True Icon Hall, ICONSIAM, CineAsia 2024 welcomed over 1,500 industry professionals from 30 countries. The event featured film previews, showcased cutting-edge cinema technology, and celebrated excellence in filmmaking.

Highlighting Thailand’s Film-Friendly Environment

TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool delivered a keynote address, emphasizing Thailand’s growing influence in global cinema. She highlighted the country’s stunning landscapes, skilled crews, and attractive incentives, including a proposed cash rebate of up to 30% per project.

“Thailand is ready to become a global production hub,” Ms. Thapanee stated. “We offer diverse locations, skilled crews, and attractive incentives, making Thailand an unparalleled choice for filmmakers worldwide.”

Showcasing Thai Film Success

CineAsia 2024 also showcased the success of Thai films in the international market. The blockbuster “Death Whisperer: Tee Yod 2” achieved record-breaking revenues exceeding 1 billion Baht (29.000 USD) and is slated for release in over 30 countries.

To further strengthen its ties with the global film community, TAT, in collaboration with Major Cineplex Group and Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand), hosted the CineAsia 2024 Reception Night at Napalai Terrace, ICONSIAM. The event featured captivating performances and showcased Thailand’s vibrant cultural offerings.

Mr. Nithee Seeprae, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, attended the reception, reiterating TAT’s commitment to supporting the film industry and promoting Thailand as a leading destination for film production and tourism.
