TAT and EVA Air to Boost Tourism to Thailand

BANGKOK/TAIPEI —The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and EVA Air have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing Thailand’s appeal as a global travel destination by signing a four-year Letter of Intent (LOI). This renewed partnership aims to drive tourism growth from key international markets through collaborative initiatives.

The signing ceremony, held in Bangkok, was attended by Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, and Mr. Albert Liao, Executive Vice President of EVA Air, alongside senior representatives from both organizations. The LOI was officially signed by Ms. Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South Pacific, and Mr. Tang Tseng, Vice President of EVA Air.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Thapanee highlighted the success of the partnership in showcasing Thailand’s unique cultural offerings. “Our collaboration with EVA Air has delivered exceptional results, showcasing Thailand’s unique culture and warm hospitality. This renewed alliance will inspire more travelers and reinforce Thailand’s position as a must-visit destination,” she said.

The renewed partnership will focus on joint marketing campaigns, media and travel agent familiarization trips, promotional travel packages with tour operators, and greater participation in global trade shows and roadshows. These efforts aim to maximize Thailand’s visibility and attract a broader audience of international tourists.

Building on Past Successes

The new agreement builds on a history of successful initiatives, including a tram campaign in Amsterdam in September 2024, which promoted EVA Air’s Bangkok-Amsterdam flights and reached an impressive 21 million impressions. Other highlights include promotional activities at the 2024 BOOKIZCON event in South Korea and a networking session in Sendai, Japan, involving 11 Thai tourism partners.

Mr. Albert Liao underscored EVA Air’s commitment to expanding Thailand’s international appeal. “Our partnership with TAT strengthens Thailand’s appeal as a premier destination. Through joint marketing and tailored packages, we aim to introduce Thailand’s attractions to more travelers across our network,” he stated.

Expanding Connectivity and Excellence

As a key player in connecting Thailand to the world, EVA Air operates 28 weekly flights between Bangkok and Taipei, along with daily flights between Taipei and Chiang Mai. From January 15 to March 29, 2025, the airline will increase its Bangkok-Taipei route frequency to 32 weekly flights to meet growing demand.

Beyond regional connectivity, EVA Air links Bangkok to destinations across Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, and Macau through Taipei. It also connects Thailand directly to European cities, including London, Vienna, and Amsterdam, while offering further connections via Taipei to Paris, Milan, and Munich. For North America, EVA Air provides 87 weekly flights, serving major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Toronto, solidifying its position as a leading carrier for North American tourists visiting Thailand.

EVA Air is renowned for its exceptional service and modern fleet. It has consistently been recognized as a top-performing airline, earning accolades such as the 2024 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award, a spot among Travel + Leisure’s top 10 international airlines, and a 5-Star Airline certification from SKYTRAX for nine consecutive years.

This strengthened partnership between TAT and EVA Air marks a significant milestone in promoting Thailand’s tourism industry, promising exciting opportunities for travelers and stakeholders alike.
