MICE: Germany & Switzerland on Top of Asian’s favourite list

London – Recent research conducted by Reed Travel Exhibitions has identified Canada, United States, Germany, Switzerland, UK, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and UAE to be amongst the top ten destinations (outside of Asia), selected by Asian meetings planners attending CIBTM, as a preferred destination for holding out bound MICE events.

Jeffrey Xu, CIBTM Project Manager, Reed Travel Exhibitions commented, “Things are looking very positive for this year with nearly two thirds of Asian buyers from our survey are reporting an increase in the volume of events they were involved in over the past 12 months and 55% expected a growth over the next 12 month. To add to this, 73% also predict use of new destinations over the next 12 months, which is a very positive indicator for companies around the globe considering their participation at the show.”
 
The analysis also revealed that 49% of all Hosted Buyers have annual budgets of over $10 million and 44% have budgets up to $10 million per year, with representatives attending from many of the world’s global brands including: GE Healthcare, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Amazon, ANZ Band (China Ltd), Commonwealth Bank of Australia, HSBC Jintrust Fund Management Company Limited, Marsh Pty Ltd, PwC Australia, Siemens Ltd, Pfizer and many more.
 
International exhibitors who have already confirmed their attendance at CIBTM 2014 include: Canadian Tourism Commission, Korea Tourism Organization, Instituto Nacional de Promocion Turistica Argentina, Langham Hotels, The Okura Hotel Group, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Accor and SkyTeam Airline Alliance. In addition to this, Visit Berlin, Cirque de Soleil and Jeju CVB have signed up to attend the event for the first time this year.
