Sydney – The Indonesian President says Australia should join the Association of Southeast Asian Nations as the Turnbull government prepares to host the first ASEAN summit on Australian soil.

Australia is not a formal ASEAN member but takes part in the biennial leaders’ summit.

Now Joko Widodo says Australia should become a member.
