Phnom Penh – The second meeting of the Cambodia-China Inter-Governmental Coordination Committee kicked off here in the capital of Cambodia on Tuesday with the aim of deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between the two nations.
The high-level meeting was co-chaired by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and visiting Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Namhong said the meeting was to review the progress in the implementation of the action plan of the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between Cambodia and China.
“I have confidence that the meeting will deepen our cooperation in all fields,” he said.
Yang said the meeting would further enhance cooperation between China and Cambodia in all areas.
“It will contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between our two countries,” he said.
According to the official schedule, at the end of the meeting, Namhong and Yang will preside over the signing ceremony of eight documents for bilateral cooperation in the sectors of economy and trade, defense, health, and education.
Yang arrived here Monday night for the meeting. During his stay, he will also be received in royal audience by Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, and pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, it said.
Besides, Yang and Namhong will jointly inaugurate the Chinese Cultural Mansion in Cambodia. Source: Xinhua
