Indonesian president nominated as GGGI president

Jakarta – Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has been nominated as a candidate of president of the Seoul-based international environmental organization Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) to replace Lars Lokke Rasmussen.

President Yudhoyono accepted the nomination. The election of the GGGI president will be on Nov. 18, 2014. 

Yudhoyono’s tenure as president of Indonesia is to end on Oct. 20. 

Yudhoyono had also led a campaign of planting 1 billion trees per year and enforced law and order on those engaging in deforestation in the country. Source: Xinhua
