Brunei hosts ATF Tourism Forum in January

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Tourism Forum 2020 is approaching fast: In January 2020 important ASEAN and international leaders in tourism will meet in Brunei. What is in store for them?

First part of AFT are the official meetings, in this edition taking place from Janury 12th to 16th. Among those are the meetings with ASEAN National Tourism Organisation. Those are formal meetings between officials of ASEAN NTOs, led by their respective Executive Heads, and representatives from China, Japan, Republic of Korea, India and Russia. Next are the meetings of ASEAN Tourism Ministers. They include the attendance of ASEAN ministers, as well as their counterparts from China, Japan, Republic of Korea and India. Lastly, the formal part is concluded by association meetings. The participants are ASEAN Tourism Association, Federation of ASEAN Travel Association, ASEAN Airlines Association, and ASEAN Hotel & Restaurant Association.

The next part, lasting from January 24th to 16th are the 3-day TRAVEX fairs. They include the exhibition and business appointments between the facilitates that sell and buy the regional and individual tourism products of ASEAN member states. Its inherent part is also networking which enables the discussion in less formal settings. You can’t also forget about fun so pre- and post-event activities – for example, golf games or tours that will showcase the beauty and richness of Brunei.
