Brexit: Toyota plans to pause production

London/Tokyo – Toyota Motor will stop building cars in the U.K. for a few days after Brexit in case of snags from a no-deal breakup.

A plant in central England will suspend production the day after the Oct. 31 divorce and possibly restart the following Monday, with a few days of extra inventory stockpiled as a buffer.

A no-deal Brexit would result in tariffs between European Union members and the U.K. and possibly disrupt logistics. (Nikkei)
